Our Old Macdonald's Farm Holiday Park is located in a farm setting alongside the Marahau river, hidden away amongst exotic and native plantings. Marahau is the entrance to the world famous Abel Tasman National Park coastal track with its bountiful golden beaches & sculptured granite cliffs, Abel Tasman must of thought he had discovered paradise! Old Macdonald's can cater for all of your activities, be it hiking, kayaking or water taxi transport we can arrange it for you. There is secure car parking, secluded camping & cabin accommodation's, river swimming, bookings & local information even Wi-Fi to stay in touch. Owned, Built & Operated by the Macdonald family for 25+ years, we feel our Holiday park will impress & meet all of your holiday requirements be it active or relaxing at an affordable price. Dogs are welcome during the months 1st March - 1st December. Please make arrangements with Management first.

Meet The Macdonald Family
The Macdonald's welcome you into their home - 100 acres nestled in the Marahau Valley just 400 meters from the Abel Tasman National Park, We have family cabins & camping alongside our office area "The Hub" of the farm, or go International where we have "Cowman's Cottage" more cabins & camping @ our busy backpacker area/hostel, then a little further up the track is our jewel "The Bull paddock camping ground" , hidden alongside the Marahau river, here we have large powered & non-powered sites all planted by the Macdonald's making the most out of our natural surrounds, swimming holes & birdsong.
All About Marahau
Marahau once farming Tabacco & hops for beer, is a sunny valley located one hour's drive from Nelson city or twenty minutes from Motueka our closest town & best for supplies. Tourism is now the main focus of our local community here in Marahau making us a destination with café's, to choose your nightly cuisine all within walking distance, local arts & crafts, a quiet horse trek along the beach or forest floor with Brian or Paddle board the calm warm waters of the Otuwhero estuary with Daryl's watch full eye, or for the brave paddle around to "Split Apple Rock". You can freedom Kayak with Mitch or Troy along the sheltered golden coast of the Abel Tasman National Park, hike through the native forest ( Bush ), or book a water taxi with Gavin & picnic on a golden stunning beach. All making Old Macdonald's Farm Holiday Park the base to be here in Marahau. Amazing clear night skies without the distraction of street lighting is a sight to behold.
