Campsite & Farm Facilities
Kitchens
We have large open plan kitchens, that are cleaned daily. Complete with sinks, gas hobs, full sized refrigerators, freezers, tables, microwave ovens, jugs and toasters. We have one full sized oven on the property. Just speak to reception if you require it. Food stored in communal kitchens is at your own risk. Please ensure all items are clearly marked with your name and departure date.
Bathrooms
Toilet and shower blocks are located throughout the property and cleaned daily. Hot showers are included in your stay. For people looking for a shower after walking the Abel Tasman National Park, we offer showers at $5 per person with a half hour time limit before 5pm. Please ask at reception and we can direct you to the most appropriate area.
Laundry
We have coin operated washing machines, dryers and clotheslines available for use throughout the property. All our washers and dryers take x2 $2 coins for a wash = $4. Washing machines have a 50 minute cycle. PLEASE NOTE – We can not give cash out from on a credit card so bring money with you to exchange. No shoes or heavy items to be out in our machines and no washing after 10:30pm.
WIFI
Please note there is limited cell phone reception on our property but we do offer WIFI vouchers for $5 for 24 hours from login for 10G, 3 devices. There are also weekly and monthly voucher options.
Secure Car Parking
Leave your car in our secure car park for $10.00 per night while out in the Abel Tasman National Park. You get a free night if you stay at Old Macdonald's Farm.
Camp Store & Booking Office
Our friendly Reception staff are here to help you with water taxi, kayaking and activity bookings and information etc. We have basic supplies in our camp shop including cold beverages, beer, wine, cider, milk, bread, ice, ice creams, basic food and toiletries supplies.
Free Water Taxi Pick Up & Drop Off
Have your water taxi pick you up from the office and bring you home after your trip. Just ask our friendly office staff to arrange this for you when booking your tickets. Pickups are half an hour before the water taxi leaves.
Bush Walks & Glow Worms
Stroll through our native bush walk. See glow worms at night, a 400 year old towering Rimu tree and listen to the native birdsong. This is New Zealand almost as it was when the first people arrived. Take a walk around the farm and visit Tasman Bay and the Abel Tasman National Park or into the heart of the Mārahau Valley.
River Swimming
We're lucky that Old Macdonald's Holiday Park is bordered by the Mārahau River. Take a swim in any of the natural freshwater swimming holes. Our main swimming hole in the 'Bullpaddock', has a big sandy area and is great for families with young children.
BBQ's & Fires
There are shared gas BBQs located throughout the property to use including undercover cooking areas. Located at the 'Cowman's Cottage’ and the ‘Bullpaddock’. No solid fuel BBQs allowed. Accelerants are not to be used in ANY circumstances. Open fires and fireworks are strictly prohibited within the park.
Dog Friendly
We are a dog friendly campground for well behaved dog/s if arranged with management prior to arriving. You must show proof of your dog's up to date vaccination record upon check in.
You are welcome to bring your dog/s camping only. We do not allow dog/s in any of our bedding accommodation. That includes Dorm rooms/Cabins/Glamping Tents and our Self contained unit. Please make sure your dog/s does not bother people or other dogs and pick up their doggy doos.
